What’s the best retail ecommerce site you’ve worked on, and what made it so effective?
The best retail ecommerce site that I have worked with was business management software programme NetSuite, because it allows retailers to provide a personalised shopping experience. NetSuite creates a profile for each shopper and builds up a history of sales and preferences.
Imagine a customer shops online to do their browsing, then perhaps goes into the store to actually try something on, or to check the quality in person. You ask for their account, and see that they have a shopping basket that hasn’t been checked out so can immediately point them to the item in the store, or bring them the cross-sell/up-sell items that matches their previous purchase from home.
What kind of inventory solutions should SMEs or newly-established retailers consider before they launch into ecommerce?
NetSuite is a great inventory solution. It is critical for a retail business to have a fully cohesive ecommerce solution because of its ability to bring all the customer touch-point elements together. An automated real-time ordering online system will make inventory delivery fast, accurate and manageable.
