The fear of criminals trying to steal credit card data has increased according to a survey by Transaction Network Services, which was largely based in America, Australia and the United Kingdom.

Four US retailers are facing US$1.3 million in penalties after being found guilty of misleadingly labelling items of clothing as being made from bamboo. Consumer NZ says the cases should act as a warning to retailers in New Zealand.

Retail sales in the third quarter of this year have stayed resilient, with a seasonally adjusted 1.4 percent increase in sales.
