Numbers at Auckland’s newest mall are on the rise, despite claims the centre was a ‘ghost town’ after it opened in October last year. It is now fully leased and customers are changing their habits to include the centre, with more visiting every month.
The retail design firm behind some of New Zealand’s most popular shopping centres, The Buchan Group, has appointed two new principals to its Kiwi practice. It says these appointments follow recent strong growth in New Zealand.
Auckland’s new NorthWest shopping centre opened its doors on October 1. The 2.7 hectare centre has cost owner and developer DNZ Property Fund upwards of $155 million to build over 18 months, and it houses more than 100 shops. Catherine Murray went behind the scenes.
The NZX-listed Auckland-based property company has today changed its name to Stride Property Limited. It owns and manages more than $950 million of office, retail and industrial property assets – its retail tenants include Bunnings, Progressive Enterprises, Foodstuffs and The Warehouse.
