MBIE warns retailers to keep employment records or face fines

Employers should keep accurate employment records or face being fined for it, the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment says. The retail trade was one of the worst offenders last year, racking up 38 cases. Fines can reach up to $10,000 for individuals and $20,000 for companies if records aren’t kept.
