A campaign spearheaded by Consumer NZ has seen several of New Zealand's biggest retail brands agree to drop or extend expiry dates from their gift cards. Countdown, Kathmandu and Noel Leeming are among the companies that have agreed to no longer have a cut-off period in which a gift card can be spent in.

A survey of more than 10,000 New Zealanders has revealed New Zealand’s best and worst retailers. Subscribers and online members of consumer advocacy publication Consumer NZ were asked to rate how likely they’d be to recommend each store to others.
