Double Trouble: Burger Burger's Mimi Gilmour on omnichannel

Founded in 2014, Burger Burger shook up Auckland’s hospitality scene with its affordable burgers and shakes and cheeky personality. It has now expanded to include a restaurant focused on ocean-sourced fare called Fish Fish. Kiwis are clearly huge fans, as Burger Burger has amassed more than 40,000 followers across Facebook and Instagram. Co-founder and creative director Mimi Gilmour discusses the company’s digital approach.

Mimi Gilmour’s restaurant chains Burger Burger and Fish Fish have adopted the no-reservations policy increasingly used overseas. But as their popularity soars and queues have formed, she has decided to create an app that takes the annoyance out of waiting for a table.

The best and brightest businesses on social media were crowned at New Zealand's second annual Social Media Awards last night. More than 400 people poured into Auckland’s Sweatshop Brew Kitchen to see the likes of Spark, Burger Burger and Bell Tea take home some appropriately-designed hashtag awards.

Retailers celebrate at the Newmarket Business Excellence Awards

A Mini dealership has driven away with the 2015 ANZ Newmarket supreme award. Mini Garage Auckland sales manager Jonny Highton says he felt the award was down to his 14-strong team’s different approach to car retail. “We’re a bit of a crossover between a normal car yard and a premium retail experience.”
