Australian multi-brand apparel chain General Pants Co. has confirmed speculation it will soon launch into New Zealand with two stores set to open later this month.
General Pants Co. will open an Auckland store on October 16 at Westfield Newmarket, and a Christchurch store three days later at 88 Cashel St. The stores represent General Pants Co.’s first international bricks and mortar presence.
The 30-year-old retailer specialises in youth apparel and denim, offering brands like Ksubi, Neuw, Rolla’s, Dr Denim, Nudie, Lee, Levi’s, Insight, Huffer and Stussy.
General Pants Co. chief executive Sacha Laing says the store openings are only the beginning of the retail leader’s foray into Kiwi pop-culture.
In September the brand announced its 2020 partnership with St Jerome’s Laneway Festival, scheduled to run in Auckland on January 27.
