BoConcept is present in more than 60 countries, with almost 300 stores owned by 160 franchisees. The New Zealand franchise launched in 2004 and has three stores – Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
Jeff Davoren, BoConcept New Zealand general manager, puts the success down to the local team and culture.
“Our customer service and staff skill set is amongst the best in the world. So is our staff retention, which I believe says a huge amount about our culture and how we do business.”
“Fostering design talent in the local community is key for us. We place a huge importance on training plans and personal development of our teams. I think part of our success has come down to this, and the Kiwi way of being open to adapt, change, and constantly being open to new ideas.”
Davoren says this success shows that the quality of New Zealand’s retail offering is “right up there with the best in the world.”
“We've taken the support we get from head office in Denmark, applied a Kiwi way of doing business to it and that approach has just been recognised as the best franchise worldwide."
Global BoConcept chief executive Anton van de Putte described the New Zealand team as trailblazers, with KPIs that are soaring above industry expectations.
“Their business model is solid and impenetrable. Their staff are invaluable to representing our core values, and to the professionalism we strive to achieve at BoConcept.”
