Superette and Glassons dominate retail categories at Newmarket Business Awards

At the annual Newmarket Business Awards, apparel boutique Superette took home the New Zealand Retailer of the Year award, while the International Retailer of the Year award went to first time entrant Glassons Newmarket. Retailers also crossed over into a few general categories.

Newmarket Business Association chief executive Mark Knoff-Thomas says it’s a great feeling being able to recognise and acknowledge businesses in the precinct that are thriving. Around 18 percent of Newmarket’s 1900 businesses are retail.
 

“Every year these awards provide us with the opportunity to celebrate the best in Newmarket business and reflect on some of the amazing things we have on offer. 2018 was our biggest year yet with just under 100 entries and over 390 attendees who celebrated in typical Newmarket style.”

Gates Eyewear picked up Best Customer experience, while a retailer launched in 2017, the Wine Cave, was awarded Best Innovation of the Year. Lush Cosmetics was awarded Most Sustainable Business of the Year.

Apparel retailer Glamour Boutique won the People’s Choice award for the third year in a row.
