Overland Footwear is the latest company to win the IBM award for New Zealand’s overall Best Workplace for 2017, this is the third time the company has received the title in the awards' 18 years.
Over 35,000 employees from 210 New Zealand companies in the private and public sector were a part of IBM Kenexa's annual survey.
The categories were ranked by size: Small, small-medium, medium-large, large and enterprise.
Taking out the title for a third time, Overland Footwear has proven again that for the retail scene, it is one of the best to work within. Out of 42 other finalists, the title remained with the company who have branches throughout New Zealand.
Overland Footwear was in the category for companies with 400-749 employees. As well as the best workplace award it also came away with and acknowledgement of a decade in the Best Workplaces League awards. Sharing the title only with AA Insurance and Mars New Zealand LTD.
The IBM Best Workplaces 2017 survey saw over 35,000 employees from 173 organisations (including 27 newcomers) surveyed, making it the largest study of its kind in New Zealand.
The best small work place winner was awarded to Hyundai Wairarapa, while the most improves organisation went to Blue Barn Consulting LTD.
The Awards are based on employee perceptions of their workplace in a confidential survey across key metrics including leadership, culture, recognition and engagement.
