Skechers continues its growth spurt with its latest concept store opening is Sylvia Park. The shoe retailer has seen continued success both here and internationally.
Thursday evening saw Skechers pulling out all the stops for the opening of its Sylvia Park concept store, with the store unofficially opening to the public the day before.
The evening consisted of live runway performances, dancers and a live talk with host Carly Flynn and guest speaker Julia Matthews.
A large floral wall with the logo complimented the new store, which includes two handing chandeliers, polished light wood floors and exposed brick columns.
The light feel of the space was modern and has a different vibe to the other stores which are futuristic feeling with no lack of the colour blue.
The opening was a hit among goers, with champagne and vouchers up for grabs.
Adding to the excitement, host Flynn quizzed the crowd on Skechers general knowledge, offering more vouchers for new shoes as a prize.
The opening was a good excuse for the store to showcase its latest collection, the new Skechers YOU range as well as the hipster-style D’Lites.
Skechers has been in New Zealand for over 20 years, opening the doors to its first concept retail store in Westfield St Lukes in 2013.
Although established in New Zealand for a while, the company only opened in the South Island mid-2016.
Since then the company has seen impressive growth, both here and overseas.
Skechers were first introduced to New Zealand and Australia in 1992 by the Accent Group, which is celebrating its own 25 year anniversary this year. Originally established in New Zealand, the Accent Group was the first international distributor of Skechers.
