The kiosk is one of four European structures left on Maungawhau, Mount Eden.
The quaint historical building is 355 square metres in size and single level, with 19 car parks.
It was built in 1926 and has previously been used as team rooms and a restaurant.
JLL national director of retail sales and leasing Chris Beasleigh says it’s an ideal fit for an independent shop.
He says the perfect occupant will revitalise the high profile area and promote its historical background.
“In addition to a normal café or restaurant, the future tenant will need to also cater for the multiple needs of visitors through providing takeaway food and beverage options, icecream and sun smart accessories as well as retaining the existing information kiosk,” says Beasleigh.
The kiosk has also recently undergone earthquake strengthening.
Beasleigh says despite the restorement, the kiosk has still retained its historic character.
Under the Historic Places Act, the kiosk is an archaeological site.
This means it cannot be destroyed, damaged or modified without permission from the New Zealand Historic Places Trust.
Rental price is by negotiation with a minimum five-year lease term.
All interested parties must submit their request for proposal by Friday 26 June.
