Metro Commercial, a retail property specialist, and Rebbeck Dunn Watters, a project delivery and building consultancy firm, won big at the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) awards.
Metro Commercial won the prestigious Retail Team of the year award, while Rebbeck Dunn Watters got a merit award in project management.
The awards were given based on criteria such as teamwork, innovation, project success and client satisfaction.
Director of Metro Commercial Martin Hudson says the award is a major endorsement for Metro.
“To win this award against strong competition from the other commercial real estate offices around the country is a real boost for what is still a relatively small team,” Hudson says.
The company has just nine team members.
The RICS is the world’s leading professional body for qualifications and standards in land, property and construction.

Metro Commercial says Topshop’s arrival to Auckland’s CBD has been a phenomenal success.
“Securing them as a tenant has further enhanced the retail offering to residents and visitors, going someway to meeting the Council’s aspirations of making Queen St the country's top shopping destination,” it said.
