Recruitment with a fresh frame of mind

In New Zealand, you’ll be hard pushed to find a recruitment agency with a primary focus on the fashion retail industry. Given that our country is a hot bed for incredible talent, Frame Retail is excited and proud to step forward as one of New Zealand’s only fashion orientated retail recruitment services.

Initially starting out as a retail consulting agency in 2016, Frame Retail has since specialised in recruitment and been pairing the perfect talent with their perfect brands since June 2018. Fast approaching their 3rd birthday, Frame Retail effectively recruits nationwide.

Rachel Smart, the woman behind Frame Retail, is just as well qualified as the candidates she seeks out for job vacancies. With many years of both state and regional management and executive retail recruitment under her belt, Rachel is the right person for this job. Media has also been a large part of Rachel’s career. As the active co-founder of The Social Project, a social media and PR agency, Rachel is extremely well connected in the marketing world, and never short of a candidate recommendation.

Doing things the Frame way has proved fruitful, and in January 2019 Rachel further expanded her team with a new Executive Consultant, Bailey Mark. Bailey boasts many years in senior fashion, marketing, buying and wholesale roles, both in New Zealand and the UK. With a thorough understanding of the market, Bailey is an asset both to Frame and their clients.

Deciding to shake things up where traditional recruitment was concerned, rather than specialise in either executive or store level, Rachel and Bailey work closely with their brands as their recruitment partner across all levels, from head office and workroom positions through to store level vacancies. Their extensive nationwide database is constantly growing and the calibre of candidates include GMs of retail, senior and head buyers and national retail managers.

The future looks bright for this emerging agency and in August their team will be expanding to include an additional senior retail recruitment consultant and a coordinator. Frame also recently launched “Frame International” where they have partnered with a London agency to bring the top UK talent over to New Zealand shores and vice versa.

“We love what we do and are genuinely excited to support people with their next career move or to help brands find their next superstar. Honesty and transparency are very important to us, and we strive to always work with the utmost professionalism. Building long-term relationships with clients and candidates alike is a priority for us” - Rachel Smart, founder and Managing Director.

With Frame Retail going from strength to strength, there’s never been a more exciting time to be a job seeker or employer in New Zealand’s fashion retail industry.
