Due to the ample amounts of compliments Daniel's white Vans were receiving, many brands jumped on the opportunity to make a quick buck.
Vans got in on the action, but Adweek reports it wasn't actually the first brand to do so. You've got to be quicker than that around here, Vans..
Forever New even cheekily tweeted a pair of white shoes that weren't Vans.
Brands that had no connection to the shoes or clothes featured in the clip even got in on the fun.
Of course, there's nothing like an event like this to bring the scalpers out. Entrepreneurial individuals capitalised on the opportunity to auction Daniel-like shoes off to the highest bidder.
This follows last year's white and gold or black and blue dress debacle, which saw a huge amount of brands scrambling to make themselves relevant to the #thedress hashtag.
