The Newmarket Business Awards have announced the 2022 winners across 15 categories after weeks of judging.
Thw winners represent an array of bars, cafes, fashion boutiques, beauty clinics, fitness centres, department stores and more across the Newmarket suburb.
The judges included a line of business leaders and influencers including Anne Norman from the James Pascoe Group, former 2Degrees CEO Stewart Sherriff, celebrity chef Anthony Hoy Fong and others.
“Newmarket continues to punch well above its weight. As always it was excellent to see some newer brands get recognised, as well as our more established businesses. We are well on the way to recovery and hats off to all businesses who have managed to navigate their way through the past couple of years,” says Newmarket Business Association CEO Mark Knoff-Thomas.
Some of the biggest winners from the awards include Young Businessperson of the Year going to Holly Bennett of Awhi, International Retailer of the Year going to David Jones, Retailer of the Year going to flo & frankie, People’s Choice Award going to Newbie Café and Supreme Winner Award going to Superette.
The awards come after a tough few years for the association dealing with the pandemic and constant lockdowns in Auckland.

“Newmarket is roaring back into life after a bumpy couple of years,” adds Knoff-Thomas.
The Newmarket Business Association is one of New Zealand’s largest business association in the country, covering the up and coming shopping district of the country’s biggest city, Auckland.
