Klarna, a leading global retail bank, payments, and shopping service has announced the launch of its popular rewards programme in New Zealand, along with the introduction of new features to its all-in-one shopping app that allow shoppers to track all their deliveries and access the latest deals.
Since its launch in September 2020, Klarna’s rewards program has gained over 4 million members in the US and Australia. The programme is now expanding to New Zealand and eight further Klarna growth markets.
With Klarna’s rewards programme, consumers earn points every time they make a payment on time, with points redeemed in the Klarna app for rewards from world-class brands.
“With our rewards programme, we help consumers get more out of every dollar they spend and reward responsible use of buy now pay later by putting the emphasis on payment, not purchase,” says Iain Gillanders, Senior Commercial Manager for Klarna NZ.
“This contrasts with traditional credit card providers which encourage irresponsible spending by rewarding consumers for making a purchase but then charge double-digit interest when they can’t afford to pay their bill at the end of the month.”
With the addition of these new features, consumers in New Zealand can now explore and save with exclusive deals, track deliveries, earn rewards points on every purchase, save items and unlock price drop notifications, and manage payments and returns, all in a single app.
Shoppers can also use Klarna’s Pay in 4 option at any online shop, regardless of whether they are directly partnered with Klarna.
Members of the rewards program earn “points” for every payment they make on time with Klarna. The points can be redeemed in the Klarna app for rewards at world-class brands including Cotton On, Sephora, Glassons, and many more. Members of the program also benefit from exclusive deals and gain early access to product drops from hand-picked merchants.
Klarna curates the latest deals from leading brands for shoppers to explore in the Klarna app so shoppers never pay more than they have to.
The roll out of new features comes as Klarna expands its presence and investment in New Zealand, following the opening of its Auckland office in 2021. Its payment option is now also available at online checkout at leading retailers in New Zealand including Cotton On, Aje, Juliette Hogan, Wynn Hamlyn, and more.
Today, the shopping service provider also announced that its flexible payment options are now available to Kathmandu shoppers around the world.
“Kathmandu is an iconic brand that has been leading the way in retail, outdoor lifestyle and sustainability for three decades. Over the past two years, the outdoors has become more important to more consumers – not just for adventure and exercise, but for well-being and escape, making Kathmandu’s ethos and products more relevant than ever. We’re proud to offer their customers the convenience, safety and transparency of our services,” says Klarna’s Chief Expansion Officer, Camilla Giesecke.
