Westfield New Zealand celebrates Matariki

Across New Zealand, Westfield will be bringing local communities together to celebrate the Matariki by putting on cultural performances with local talent, in-centre light displays, arts and crafts, plus lots more.

The Matariki festivities will take place from 25th June until 5th July at each Westfield New Zealand: Albany, Manukau City, Newmarket, St Lukes and Riccarton.

Dedicated to learning and growing from the community, Westfield continues to build deep ties with locals by making it easy to come together and celebrate significant cultural traditions like Matariki.

With all five Westfield centres in New Zealand celebrating Matariki this year, there’s a range of fun and educational activities for all ages to participate in.

“We are delighted to celebrate Matariki across our Westfield New Zealand centres again this year and know our customers will be too,” Paul Gardner, Regional Manager at Scentre Group.

“As we welcome the community to come together at their local Westfield to join in the festivities, we hope they will enjoy the special activities including light displays, kapa haka performances, and the members benefits.”
