Renowned across the world for its eclectic mix of Japanese culture and hospitality, ramen restaurant Ippudo has now opened at Sylvia Park.
Moving away from the traditionally crammed noodle bars, Ippudo is a place where people can enjoy, understand and appreciate Japan’s beloved gastronomic culture.
The first restaurant opened in 1985 in the Daimyo District of Chuo Ward, Fukuoka City. Over the years, the restaurants expanded from regional areas to the whole of Japan, mainly in the Kanto and Kansai regions.
Since opening its first overseas store in New York in 2008, Ippudo has continued to grow at a rapid rate in the international market, and in 2018, opened its 100th store.
Celebrating inspired worldwide deliciousness right here in New Zealand, the restaurant offers next-level scrumptious and gram-worthy dishes that blend modern and traditional flavour combinations.
With an emphasis on omotenashi (Japanese service hospitality), the simple ramen dish has been transformed into sophistication, referred to as “Cosmos in a Bowl.”
The restaurant delivers beautifully refreshing drinks, shared appetisers and delectable bowls of warming Hakata-style tonkotsu ramen. It also uses fresh produce from local suppliers including meat, seafood, vegetables, fruits and many other base raw ingredients.
With more than 100 stores worldwide, Auckland now boasts two exciting spaces, Ippudo Sylvia Park and flagship Ippudo restaurant at Westfield Newmarket.
The goal for the company is to reach 300 stores by 2025.
