It’s Christmas this week and if you haven’t yet battled the mall and completed your Christmas shopping, we recommend getting onto it. For those who are in need of some guidance on what to buy or how to shop, PriceSpy’s latest survey has revealed the Christmas shopping habits of Kiwis for 2020.
With the support local trend continuing on into the new year, almost 50 percent of Kiwis have said they are looking to shop at small businesses this Christmas in light of Covid-19.
Consumers also seem to be changing their shopping habits this year, with one in seven admitting to having bought their Christmas gifts around six months ago, up by 13 percent from 2019. One in four however, have said they will leave their Christmas Shopping until the last minute.
So, what categories are consumers buying into? Based on PriceSpy click insights, the top trending shopping categories are:

- Board games
- Binoculars and telescopes
