This year many fashion & lifestyle brands missed out on the benefits that in-person events and experiential activations provide, so this week’s news that New Zealand Fashion Week is returning in 2021 is promising for the hard-hit industry.
Scheduled from 30 August to 5 September, the highlight of New Zealand’s fashion calendar will return to the Auckland Town Hall and Aotea Square for a celebration of New Zealand fashion for trade and media, culminating in the much-anticipated and public-facing Fashion Weekend. A nod to adapting in these uncertain times, runway shows will be digitally amplified to reach a wider audience.
Pead is returning as PR partner, overseeing communication strategy, influencer liaison, media relations and media partnerships. The agency will also work alongside NZFW’s brand and commercial manager Myken Stewart to develop bespoke activation plans for sponsors.
Kelly Grindle, director of integrated strategy at Pead, says “this is truly one of the most expansive and exciting events to work on – our agency needs to demonstrate strong strategic insights, excellent media relationships, strict administrative processes, and a detailed understanding of all marketing channels.”
The return of NZFW in 2021 is also significant, being the event’s 20th anniversary.
Organisers of the event have confirmed returning sponsorship from government organisations including Heart of the City, ATEED and Activate Auckland, along with new and exciting brands such as Keith Haye Homes and Tatty’s.
Myken Stewart is currently negotiating brand sponsorships and partnerships for 2021 – with opportunities available at all sponsorship tiers. For further information, contact her here.
