Bookety Book Books is the new indie online store set to launch mid-August, and with it comes the capability to service the growing demand to purchase local books online.
Last year, 21.1 million books were sold in this country, and according to the recent Nielsen report book sales have increased annually by 6 percent.
The store has been started by Mandy Myles, who is mostly known for her popular Instagram reviewing books and providing recommendations to her audience, which she can now do in a more tangible way.
Her new store is bound to be popular as it launches in midst of a boom in book sales, coupled with a post-Covid ‘support local’ mantra.
“Global online stores may have lower prices, but they can never replace a local bookshop with a book lover on hand to guide you, and that’s what my online store is all about,” says Myles.
At Bookety Book Books, readers can browse curated titles, create digital wish lists, peer reviews, along with a loyalty program and the space to select books, delivered in beautifully designed and sustainably-sourced packaging with prized place going to New Zealand authors.
“The best booksellers are not necessarily there to sell books, they are there to impart their knowledge and share titles to move, challenge or inspire.
“I truly believe there’s nothing more enjoyable than a really good book, and I can’t wait to share that enjoyment with others.”
