Let the day be-Gin: Black Pineapple launches delivery cocktail boxes

Premium drinks service Black Pineapple has been providing New Zealand events and festivals with luxury cocktails since 2017. Elevating the business even further, the service is now delivering delicious cocktail kits to your front door for an at-home bar experience.

With the hospitality industry being hit hard by the nationwide Lockdown, Black Pineapple CEO Frankie Walker sparked the initiative to bring his service to the at-home market. Beginning with Facebook Live tutorials, Walker soon developed his offering into a direct-to-consumer premium drinks service.

“It was always part of the business plan, we were just too busy with events to make real headway. We used lockdown as the opportunity to fully realise the new business opportunity to help people to make better drinks at home.

“During lockdown I started these Facebook live how-to videos and very quickly I had brands asking to collaborate. Before we knew it we had 150 people joining us to make cocktails live – further evidence that there was a real appetite for making good drinks at home.”

Now, although the lavish cocktails may seem impossible for a non-bartender to create, Black Pineapple has assured the kits come with everything a beginner would need to get started. Fully loaded and pre-batched, the cocktail kit will arrive at your doorstep with fresh ingredients and garnishes, along with premium accouterments, glassware by Spiegelau, and professional barware for the ultimate experience.

“At Black Pineapple we carefully balance and mix your cocktails in advance so that all you have to do is pour, shake, garnish and look like a total pro.”

The kits are also equipped with easy to follow instructions and for those who need extra assistance, an interactive QR code unlocks further information and exclusive video tutorials.

Those who are ready to shake it up have the choice from three delectable cocktail boxes: Classics, Black Pineapple Bangers and Espresso Martinis. Prices begin at $59 for two people, providing four fresh cocktails, with the choice of a weekly, fortnightly or monthly subscription.

The service is currently only available in Auckland, however will expand regions as demand for the service grows.
