It’s crunch time for just about every Kiwi retailer as New Zealand prepares for lockdown from midnight on Wednesday. Everyone not deemed an ‘essential business’ or those supporting them is not permitted to remain open while the country is at Alert Level 4. Here’s some touching messages from retailers temporarily shutting down their businesses.
Some retailers are betting on being permitted to operate the ecommerce arm of their business during lockdown. Many are scrambling to launch new ecommerce stores by lockdown.
Other retailers are simply informing shoppers that while they can shop online, their orders will be dispatched when New Zealand leaves lockdown.
Still others are retaining the brand-building ‘advice and enquiries’ portion of their customer services, which can be maintained from home.
Harking back to normalcy and better times is not uncommon.
Many retailers are taking the opportunity to draw back the curtain between personal and professional life a little and share their personality more.
And above all, New Zealand retailers are reaching out to send best wishes to their communities, each in their own way. Stay safe out there, team!
