German appliance firm Miele appoints new New Zealand GM

Mark Bateson has been appointed general manager of Miele New Zealand. Bateson replaces Steven Bellamy, who is transitioning back to Australian operations as logistics director.

For the last two years, Bateson has held the role of director of operations ANZ. Bateson jointed the Miele team six years ago as director for human resources before transitioning to customer service and logistics. 

His career before Miele included time with Mars Confectionary, Kraft Foods and Treasury Wine Estate.

 Miele managing director ANZ, Sjaak Brouwer, said: “I am thrilled to see Mark receive this well- deserved appointment to General Manager Miele New Zealand. During Mark’s time with us he has demonstrated strong commercial and leadership skills and his experience across many aspects of our business will undoubtedly bring a wealth of knowledge and skills to our New Zealand subsidiary.”
