Countdown’s general manager buying & merchandise, Scott Davidson, is leaving the New Zealand team to take on a role within the wider Woolworths network in Australia.
Davidson will leave at the end of the year to become managing director of BWS. BWS is a stand-alone Australian liquor outlet run through another branch of Woolworths Group, Endeavour Drinks.
Managing director of Woolworths New Zealand, Natalie Davis, says the team will be sad to see Davidson go, but she is proud to see him take up a senior leadership role at another Woolworths brand.
“Scott has led our buying team for the past two years, and has overseen a positive transformation in the way we work with suppliers, the way we use customer insights to make decisions, and the way we work together across the business.
“Under his leadership, the buying team has worked end to end across the business to transition to Great Price, renew our focus on our brands, and improve our fresh and health offers.”
Davis thanked Davidson’s wider buying team for their work. His last day at Countdown New Zealand will be 24 December.
