Kiwi brands shine at international real media awards

EziBuy, Briscoes, Farmer’s, Ray White, Supercheap Auto and OOBE took home top honors at the Real Media Awards, recognised for their excellence in campaign and retail marketing.

Formerly known as the Australasian Catalogue Awards, the 28thReal Media Awards were held on Friday 30thAugust in Melbourne, Australia celebrating excellence in letterbox marketing, publishing, direct mail, point of sale, marketing efficacy and more. 

EziBuy was crowned winner of the Furniture, Bedding & Manchester award in the Home category for its EziBuy ‘Home Winter 2’ publication, with Briscoes coming in a close second for its ‘Savings from the Easter Bunny’ catalogue. The Kiwi brands took the accolade over fierce competition including King Living, Harris Scarfe and this year’s Judge’s Choice Award winner ALDI Supermarkets.

Edwina Neilson, Managing Director, EziBuy said it was an honour to be recognised as New Zealand and Australia’s leading industry Furniture, Bedding and Manchester publication.

“The team at EziBuy are excited to take home the prize this year and be recognised by industry leaders. Our catalogues are a central part in our marketing strategy, our customers love them, so it’s brilliant to see our Ezibuy Home Winter 2 campaign shine on an international stage,” 

Department Store, Farmers, also had a successful year, being awarded Finalists in not one but two categories. Their ‘Made For You’ publication was a finalist in Women and Men’s apparel award category as well as in the Chain and Department Store award.

“A huge congratulations to the whole team at Farmers, your hard work and dedication continues to inspire. A credit to you all to be recognised in the top five across these two categories,” commented Simon Ellis, Managing Director, Ovato NZ who produce the Farmers collateral. 

Supercheap Auto, Ray White and OOBE were also commended for their top letterbox marketing under the B2C category, coming out on top as finalists in their respective categories. 

Kellie Northwood, Chief Executive Officer, The Real Media Collective congratulated all of the New Zealand finalists and winners.

“With only the second year having New Zealand brands part of the Real Media Awards, it is fantastic to see so many celebrated for their hard work and dedication to effective real media campaigns. We are particularly excited to announce the New Zealand Media Currency development we launched earlier this year will be released in Auckland in October at an event where we’ll also celebrate the New Zealand entries to the Awards with greater Kiwi focus – so stay tuned,” said Northwood.
