Pottery Barn hits the New Zealand market through Ballantynes

Heritage Canterbury department store Ballantynes is introducing the US brands Pottery Barn, Pottery Barn Kids and West Elm to the Kiwi market through a New Zealand exclusive partnership with Williams-Sonoma.

The brands will be introduced via the addition of three concept stores, which will be located within Ballantynes stores in Christchurch and Timaru. They will launch in October 2019.

The range will also be available via the Ballantynes website, which ships nationwide.

“We are thrilled to bring the Williams-Sonoma, Inc. brands to our Canterbury customers. Offering the very latest styling, décor and furnishings, these brands will give our customers a source of inspiration to make their space comfortable and true to their own style,” says Maria O’Halloran, Ballantynes chief executive. “We will have curated collections from these brands with new lines arriving throughout the year. Complementing our existing range of national and international brands, we are proud to be the home of Pottery Barn, Pottery Barn Kids and West Elm in New Zealand.”

Williams-Sonoma executive vice president Ronald Young says the brand is excited to partner with Ballantynes as part of its continued global expansion. It is present in the US, Canada, Australia, the UK, the Middle East, South Korea, the Philippines and Mexico.

“[With] New Zealand’s oldest department store, we look forward to a strong relationship and long-term success as we prepare to introduce our distinctive brands and exceptional products to customers in New Zealand.”
