Another year has seen the celebration of some of Newmarket’s greatest businesses and individuals at the Newmarket Business Awards for 2019. This year, several retailers shone through as very deserving winners.
Held at the Cordis, the Newmarket Business Awards profile some of the areas best businesses, with a focus on community and supporting the growing precinct.
With many nominations and only a select amount of retailers being able to take the title, this year a wide range of our Kiwi retailers saw success over the night.
The coveted ‘Retailer of the Year’ went to Kiwi fashion-house, Ruby, an accolade which Superette won in 2018. Superette did, however, take away the ‘Newmarket People’s Choice’ gong and ‘International Retailer of the Year’ saw reigning champion, Glassons, defend its title.
Alongside that, Overland Footwear Group took the titles of Best Innovation and the Newmarket Supreme Winner for 2019.
The Overland Team
Barkers was awarded the Most Sustainable, while I Love Ugly’s Valentin Ozich took the Young Businessperson of the Year title.
NBA’s CEO, Mark Knoff-Thomas says the Awards provide the opportunity to acknowledge what the Newmarket precinct has to offer and showcases the best of the best – with the bar raised higher every year.
“We love hosting the annual Newmarket Business Awards. With such a spectacular range of diverse, innovative and cutting-edge businesses, there is plenty for us to celebrate. This year, the number of entries increased by 20 percent so there is ever-growing interest in participating!”
