International brand H&M to settle in Tauranga Crossing

Tauranga’s newest shopping precinct, Tauranga Crossing, is welcoming in another international brand in the shape of Swedish clothing retailer, H&M.

Tauranga’s newest shopping precinct, Tauranga Crossing, is welcoming in another international brand in the shape of Swedish clothing retailer, H&M.

The area has been under development since 2017, with the second phase starting to take shape this July. Now H&M has joined the fray along several other international brands, set to open its doors in April next year.

Steve Lewis, CEO of Tauranga Crossing, says the addition of the retailer will give area the edge to be to go-to retail precinct of the Bay of Plenty.

“The decision for H&M to open a store at Tauranga Crossing further reinforces the growth of the region and Tauranga Crossing as the pre-eminent retail destination in the Bay of Plenty.”

H&M has a history of drawing in long lines from Kiwi fans, and Lewis expects the new opening to be no different.

“Customer feedback we’ve received on social media indicates a strong customer desire for H&M in the Bay of Plenty so we expect they will be a big drawn card on opening day.”

“The response to our development so far has been fantastic and we are already sensing real excitement from consumers for the opening of stage two in April. We are expecting significant numbers on the opening day and are looking forward to welcoming the community into their new shopping mall.”

To accommodate the new stores and eateries opening mid-2019, the area will also be including 700 more carpark spaces.
