Little Yellow Bird’s ethical approach extends to kids clothing

Ethical clothing is becoming more important as the environmental and social effects of unethical production are brought to light. Now, New Zealand clothing brand Little Yellow Bird is delivering its ethical message to our tiniest Kiwis.

The clothing company has included a range of ethically made and produced baby onesies and kids’ t-shirts. The new range, similar to Little Yellow Bird’s other products, are made from organic cotton while being ethically produced from seed to manufacturing.

CEO Samantha Jones says the closes are made with respect for “people, the environment, and communities in which we operate.”

“While we make clothing, we’re really about demonstrating how business can be used as a force for good.”

Jones makes the point that it’s of growing importance to educate young people about ethical clothing.

“It’s vital there are affordable options for ethically made kids clothing, and even more so, that we are teaching the next generation about conscious choices and the impact these choices can have.”

Little Yellow Bird is seeing success with its ethical outlook, experiencing 800 percent growth in website sales in the past year.

It’s latest impact report showed that through sales of its garments, which include corporate and uniforms, the business have provided 20 thousand hours of fair trade labour, saving 12, 200,000 litres of water, eliminating the use of 12,200 kgs of toxic chemicals and educating up to 10 thousand people about sustainable and ethical fashion.
