The Warehouse Group has appointed Jonathan Waecker to the newly created role of chief marketing officer.
Waecker will oversee the group’s marketing and communications activities, and lead brand strategy and drive customer engagement.
Group chief executive officer Nick Grayston, who Waecker reports to, says it is crucial The Warehouse Group maximises its marketing and communications capabilities to deliver for its customers.
“Jonathan will help us to build capability in personalised, automated marketing communications as we move our mix away from traditional analogue channels into digital,” Grayston says.
“His deep understanding of customer data and analytics to drive marketing performance and revenue, coupled with his strong background in helping consumer brands define and engage with their customers, makes him an ideal fit for this role.”
Prior to joining The Warehouse Group, Waecker was based in San Francisco working as vice president of marketing communications at Yahoo. He’s also worked at Zynga and The Walt Disney Company.
Waecker has relocated to New Zealand with his family to join the team in Auckland. He starts the new role this month.
