Tauranga Crossing retail space starts stage two

Retail centre, Tauranga Crossing has started the second stage of its development, including further retail and dining options for the surrounding area.

The Tauranga Crossing has been an important part of the growing regions retail scene. An enclosed shopping environment is well placed to offer the Bay of Plenty customer plenty to choose from.

The first stage of the retail area included a Pak’n Save and The Warehouse, its completion came in late 2016.

Since then the Tauranga Crossing has assembled a team of retail development specialists with strong experience in the development of shopping centres in New Zealand to bring Stage 2 to life.

The newest additions to the shopping centre are set to include a new cinema, 15 restaurants and food eateries, an international fashion retailer and 80 other fashion and general merchandise stores.

This will take the number of retailers inhabiting the area to 110.

There has been strong retailer demand for high quality enclosed, retail space in Tauranga and the owners of Tauranga Crossing are progressing the development in response to this demand.

Construction is already under way on site with the aim of having the second stage, an ‘all-weather shopping centre’, complete in the first half of 2019.

Steve Lewis, Tauranga Crossing CEO, says they “are proud to bring Stage 2 of our Tauranga Crossing development to the Bay of Plenty market.  As well as new construction and employment opportunities, our Stage 2 development will provide a new range of shopping options for Tauranga customers, including food, entertainment and fashion retailers. “

After the second stages completion, the shopping centre will have an additional two hectares of adjacent land also open for development.
