A little over two weeks after announcing its second Kiwi store is to open in Wellington’s Queensgate Shopping Centre in Lower Hutt, Swedish fast fashion giant H&M has announced a third store in Christchurch. This comes less than a year after its first Kiwi store at Sylvia Park opened to huge crowds in October 2016.
H&M’s Christchurch store will be at The Crossing in Christchurch CBD. There’s an opening date, too – September 9 2017, making it likely to open before the Wellington store. The opening date for the Queensgate H&M is yet to be announced.
The Christchurch store will span 2535 square metres and encompass two levels. It will offer apparel, underwear and accessories for men, women, kids and babies, and has sparked great consumer excitement by being the first New Zealand store to offer H&M’s competitively-priced homeware products.
“We are excited to finally be able to announce the opening date for our Christchurch CBD store on the 9th September” says Hans Andersson, Australia and New Zealand country manager for H&M. “We are also looking forward to introducing our H&M Home concept to our customers for the first time and cannot wait to see the response on opening day.”
