The Australian arm of Kiwi icecream manufacturer Emerald Foods has acquired the master franchise rights for the Australian Mövenpick parlour network. It also represents Mövenpick in New Zealand.
The Mövenpick rights were acquired from Peters Ice Cream, which will remain the distributor of Mövenpick products across all other Australian channels.
“Our business has a true passion for ice cream,” says Damian Isbister, executive director of Emerald Foods (Australia). “Our company already enjoys a wonderful relationship withMövenpick as their representative in the New Zealand market, where we operate a number of very successful Mövenpick parlors.”
Emerald Foods manufactures New Zealand Natural icecream, which is sold in branded parlours around the world. The existing New Zealand Natural parlour network in Australia will provide a “terrific” support structure for Mövenpick stores, Isbister says.
“When you combine the 22 Mövenpick parlors in Australia with our existing network of 75 New Zealand Natural and Mövenpick parlours, we are probably delivering more smiles than any other ice cream parlor operator in Australia, which has to be a good thing,” says Isbister.
Emerald Foods also supplies New Zealand Natural icecream to other retailers, alongside its additional brands Killinchy Gold, Chateau, Zilch and Like Licks. Emerald Foods says its brands are found in more than 30 countries around the globe.
