The amount of thought that has gone into this year’s entries is astounding, Newmarket Business Association chief executive Mark Knoff-Thomas says.
“We were blown away at the quality of this year’s entries. Our panel of expert judges definitely had their work cut out for them to identify the finalists for each category.”
This year’s judging panel includes business leaders Anne Norman from Pascoes Group; Stewart Sherriff from 2Degrees; Jayne Atherton from Fairfax; Andy Hamilton from Icehouse; Michael Barnett from the Auckland Chamber of Commerce; Wynnis Armour from AWF and Armour Consulting; Ian Gibson from Auckland City BMW; Rachel Dovey from Bayleys; chef Anthony Hoy Fong; Andrew Parsons, professor and head of AUT’s Marketing, Advertising, Retail and Sales department; and Newmarket Rotary.
Dovey says Bayleys is proud to co-sponsor the awards, and acknowledged the “extraordinary people” contributing to the success of the businesses involved.
Ian Gibson, managing director of co-sponsor Auckland City BMW, says: “I am certainly privileged to be involved with the awards this year; it’s not an easy task particularly as the quality and content of the entries received are of the highest standard.”
Award winners, plus the winner of the student-led window design competition, will be announced at the awards evening at the Auckland War Memorial Museum on Friday 17 June. Last year’s supreme winner was car dealership Mini Garage Auckland.
