Presented by .99 and NZME, the award means Warehouse Stationery Royal Oak will now go forward to compete against other Regional Supreme Award winners in the national finals, which will conclude in a gala dinner in Christchurch on September 3. Spark Kerikeri was the runner up.
Warehouse Stationery executive general manager operation Paul Gianotti says there was excitement around the office this morning as the wider group celebrated Royal Oak’s win.
“Royal Oak were the winners, but actually it’s the team winning that [award].”
He says the Royal Oak store has been highly successful, seeing 12 percent revenue growth over last year. The team there is tight-knit, implements plans from the support office well and maintains a strong customer focus, Gianotti says.
The support office sees a steady flow of compliments about this team: “They’re always energetic, smiling.”
Gianotti says Warehouse Stationery as a whole has enjoyed six consecutive years of same-store growth, citing a five-year decline prior to that.
Retail NZ, which puts on the Top Shop awards, says the judges who visited Warehouse Stationery Royal Oak noted the genuine and enthusiastic customer service, well-stocked and tidy presentation of the shop, and the excellent staff knowledge about the products in store.
