The Warehouse Group’s Kevin Rowland named COO of eStar

Rowland will lead the production team at eStar, developing processes and reporting across the company.

He has an extensive history in retail, with over 35 years experience.

Before he moved to New Zealand in 2006, Rowland was MIS manager for one of the UK’s top four grocery retailers, Safeway Stores.

At The Warehouse Group, he was the business systems manager for Warehouse Stationery from 2007 to 2009.

He then became the systems support and development manager for Warehouse Stationery from 2009 until 2011.

With this role, he was responsible for the support, management and development of The Warehouse Group’s systems.

This included ecommerce, POS and operational business information.

He then went on to become the group business information manager of The Warehouse Group in 2011.

eStar CEO Andrew Buxton says Rowland’s background in operations management and information technology will help eStar reach its next phase of growth.

“Recognised internationally as a business intelligence expert, Kevin’s experience will help ensure eStar continually improves our service to clients, and perfectly positions eStar to deliver large scale ecommerce deployments across Australasia,” Buxton says.

eStar and The Warehouse Group have had staff crossover in the past. Buxton was formerly its CEO of multichannel and the Torpedo7 group.

He left to join eStar in October 2014.

eStar was founded in Christchurch in 1998 and is now one of the ecommerce market leaders in Australasia.

It assists with over $400 million worth of transactions on its clients’ ecommerce platforms.

Its clients include Briscoe Group, Rodd and Gunn and Country Road.
