Stuff.co.nz announced his appointment last week. Lee replaces outgoing CEO Richard Binns, who appeared in the March issue of NZRetail magazine speaking about Postie’s outlook following its purchase by South African firm Pepkor in September 2014.
Binns then said Postie had seen double digit gtowth in trade over the holiday period, speaking positively about Postie’s future despite its rocky past.
“When we were in voluntary administration and had to close some stores, the reaction from the community was very powerful, and for me, that was humbling.
“We are more than happy to remain in the communities and continue to build those relationships.”
Lee has over 15 years experience in the apparel, fashion and retail industries. He is a qualified accountant, and has spent more than five years working as a finance executive.
He describes himself as “a retail generalist with specialist skills in retail, operations, merchandise management, finance and management skills.”
Lee was Witchery’s COO from 2008 until 2012. He has also worked with Country Road, and is one of three partners who run Australian business support company KUBA Retail Partners.
