Online retail training company RedSeed secures funding to expand to the US market

RedSeed estimates it provides online service and sales training to 61 percent of the large format retail market in New Zealand.

It provides training solutions and video demonstrations that help staff improve their sales.

RedSeed‘s current clients include Briscoe Group, Revlon, Hallenstein Brothers, Ziera Shoes, The Warehouse Group and Amazon Surf.

The funding from the Punakaiki Fund will go towards RedSeed’s expansion into the US market, Redseed director and co-founder Anya Anderson says.

“This investment will allow us global reach with our primary focus on the USA and Australia in the next 12 months,” says Anderson.

Anderson co-founded the company alongside Glen Duffield in 2008.

She was previously the regional manager of Hallenstein Brothers and oversaw training for the Hallenstein Glassons Group before founding RedSeed.

RedSeed caught the eye of Punakaiki director Lance Wiggs in 2013, when he was a judge at the NZ HiTech awards.

The company was a Best Hi-Tech Start-Up Company Of The Year finalist in the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment category in 2013 and 2014.

Wiggs says he welcomes RedSeed as the first Christchurch-based company to join the Punakaiki Fund.

“We see that RedSeed offers a compelling product for Australian and USA retailers, and we are delighted to be able to help with funding for those two markets,” Wigg says.
