Central North Island retailers claim Top Shop nominations

As the Top Shop Awards reach the last half of nominations, retailers from central North Island have claimed their spaces for the region.

The biennial Top Shop Swards are a large night for regional retailers, with nominees being selected from over 600 entrees.

12 retailers from across the Waikato, Taranaki, Rotorua and the Bay of Plenty have been named as notional finalists for 2017.

Now, only one more region remains, the upper North Island, with results to be expected this week.

But for now, here are the top finalists for central North Island:

Police started to notice an escalation in April 2017, and they report that by May 31, aggravated robberies were up 87 percent on the previous year.
