Kiwi Property has revealed its plans to expand the Sylvia Park shopping centre. Renovations include new department stores and 1500 extra carparks.
The Sylvia Park centre has been the topic of conversation recently, the area has seen several million dollar additions such as office spaces and dinning lanes.
Now, the shopping centre itself is getting more than one exciting new tenant – and Kiwi Property won’t say who.
Kiwi is only saying it will have "at least one" and that it will be upstairs as part of a vast 2-hectare floor space expansion.
Kiwi Property has placed importance on larger international retailers leasing its stores, the mall itself sees over 12.6 million annual visitors a year and has over $455 million annual retail sales.
Plans for The Grove
Kiwi Property say the renovations are expected to start next year as it readies the 20,000 square metres.
"A second-level galleria addition will incorporate at least one new department store, a modern cafe court and an expanded retail offer incorporating new international brands plus around 900 new carparks," Kiwi's presentation said.
This phase won't be completed until 2019/2020 but is in "advanced planning".
The new five-level $36.3 million central carpark is now being built and is expected to be finished in November of next year.
