Top Shop Awards 2017 entry extended

Good news for last-minute people - Retail NZ has extended the deadline for entry into its Top Shop Awards until March 27. 

The awards are run by Retail NZ to celebrate New Zealand's top retailers. Anyone can enter, not just Retail NZ members, and the awards are open to retail businesses of all sizes. A single entry fee allows retailers to enter up to three of the below categories:

Best Small Retailer.
Best Large Retailer.
Customer Experience Award.
Investment in People Award.
Innovation Award.
Visual Merchandising Award.
Up and Coming Retailer Award.
Omichannel Award.
Pureplay Etailer Award.
People's Choice Award.
Supreme National Award.

While Hallenstein Glasson has enjoyed a strong recovery at the last annual report, its ‘high-end fashion’ brand Storm has consistently been a weak performer compared to Glassons and Hallenstein Brothers. Now, it’s been purchased by chief executive Deborah Caldwell.

Catch Group launches bargain website in New Zealand

A new website called Catch of the Day will target Kiwi bargain-hunters with thousands of products across dozens of retail categories. The suite of sites run by owner Catch Group in Australia sell an item every 2.8 seconds, and ship over 10,000 orders per day.
