M&M 'pre-haunt' Halloween candy for sale

With a live feed coming from a historic house known for spooky sightings, M&M's is stuffing your candy full of ghosts for Halloween in its latest campaign.

Shared via the M&M New Zealand Facebook page, M&M’s and Colenso BBDO are attempting to create the world’s longest ever live broadcast event as they “pre-haunt” the M&Ms in time for Halloween. Fans of the chocolate treat can tune in to try catch a glimpse of the ghoulish action.

Started on Friday 13, with help from paranormal investigator and founder of Haunted Auckland Mark Wallbank, the live feed is set up at well-known Alberton House in Auckland's Mt Albert and will continue for 13 days.

Ghostly activity has been reported at the historic property in the past, including sightings of women in Victorian clothes. 

For the campaign, a live feed on Facebook jumps between three rooms – the ballroom, the library, and the attic –  where the boxes of M&M candy sit.

The boxes will be available for purchase at hauntedmms.co.nz in three levels of ‘Hauntedness’ depending on where they are placed in the house - lightly haunted (the ballroom), mediumly spooky (the library), and extra super creepy (the attic).
